1. Ear Wax (Impacted Cerumen)
Excess ear wax can block the ear canal, leading to hearing loss, fullness, discomfort, or ringing sensation.
Treatment Offered:
Ear syringing which is a painless and safe way to remove wax from the ear after it has softened. This is the commonest method to remove wax in children as well as adults
Microscopic ear examination and cleaning in select patients
Patient education to prevent recurrence
2. Ear Infections
Ear infections may present with ear pain, discharge, hearing loss, or fever. They are common in both children and adults.
Types:
- Ear canal infections including fungal infections
- Ear drum (tympanic membrane) infections / perforations
- Middle ear infections including chronic otitis media, otitis media with effusion
Treatment Offered:
Medical management (ear drops, medications)
Aural toileting under microscope
Surgical treatment if required
3. Hearing Loss
Hearing loss may be gradual or sudden and can affect quality of life if untreated.
Types:
- Conductive hearing loss
- Sensorineural hearing loss, age related hearing loss
- Mixed hearing loss
Treatment Offered:
- Pure Tone Audiometry (hearing test) – soon to be launched
- Medical treatment for reversible causes
- Hearing aid evaluation and guidance
- Referral for advanced interventions when needed
4. Tinnitus (Ringing in Ear)
A persistent ringing, buzzing, or humming sound in the ears without an external source.
Treatment Offered:
- Detailed evaluation to identify cause
- Medical management
- Tinnitus counselling and referral for tinnitus retraining therapy
5. Ear Discharge and ear perforation
Persistent or recurrent ear discharge may indicate underlying infection or eardrum perforation.
Treatment Offered:
- Microscopic ear examination
- Infection control with medication
- Surgical repair if needed
6. Foreign Body in Ear
Common in children, may cause pain, discharge, or hearing issues.
Treatment Offered:
Safe removal under direct visualization, removal under microscope if required.
