Ear Surgeries

At Sahawas ENT Clinic, we offer advanced ear surgeries aimed at restoring hearing in cases of conductive hearing loss, eliminating ear infections, and improving quality of life. All procedures are planned after detailed clinical evaluation including ear microscopy and audiological assessment, ensuring safe and effective outcomes.

Common Ear Surgeries We Offer

1. Tympanoplasty (Eardrum Repair Surgery)

A procedure to repair a perforated eardrum (tympanic membrane), often caused by chronic infection or trauma.

Indications:

  • Persistent ear discharge
  • Hearing loss due to perforation
  • Recurrent infections

Benefits:

  1. Closure of eardrum perforation
  2. Improvement in hearing
  3. Prevention of recurrent infections

2. Mastoidectomy

A surgical procedure to remove infected air cells in the mastoid bone, typically performed in chronic or complicated ear infections.

Indications:

  • Chronic suppurative otitis media (CSOM)
  • Cholesteatoma
  • Persistent ear discharge not responding to treatment

Goals:

  • Complete removal of disease
  • Creation of a safe, dry ear

3. Ossiculoplasty

Reconstruction of the tiny hearing bones (ossicles) in the middle ear to improve sound transmission.

Indications:

  • Damage to ossicles due to infection or trauma
  • Conductive hearing loss

Outcome:

Significant improvement in hearing in selected patients

4. Myringotomy with Grommet Insertion

A minor procedure where a small incision is made in the eardrum and a tiny tube (grommet) is inserted to drain fluid.

Common in:

  • Children with recurrent ear infections
  • Persistent middle ear fluid (glue ear)

Benefits:

  1. Relief from ear pressure
  2. Improved hearing
  3. Reduced frequency of infections

6. Stapedotomy

A surgical procedure recommended for ossicular fixation or otosclerosis in which the hearing bone attached to the inner ear becomes ‘fixed’ or immobile.

Benefits of the surgery are significant reversal of the conductive hearing loss and significant relief from ringing noise in the ear (tinnitus) which occurs as a result of the hearing loss

Apart from these, microscopic ear cleaning for wax or infections, ear lobe repair, pinna keloid treatments, Pinna seroma treatment and ear piercing are other minor procedures done frequently at Sahawas ENT clinic by Dr Dani.

We have a fully functioning OT with an operating ear microscope to carry out ear procedures and surgeries.
